A new "medical city" is under development including the UCF College of Medicine, VA hospital, and Burnham Research Institute centering their locations in the southeast part of town near Lake Nona.
Greater Orlando is home to several renowned theme parks including Walt Disney World, Universal Studios Florida and Sea World. Because of Orlando's unique position directly in the center of Florida, both east (Cocoa, New Smyrna, Daytona) and west (Clearwater, St. Petersburg) coasts are one-hour trips and glorious weekend adventures.
