It is the oldest and largest health care system in Central Florida.

As the largest hospital in Florida and the busiest hospital in the U.S., Florida Hospital has 2,188 licensed beds on eight campuses in the greater Orlando area. With more than 16,700 staff members, Florida Hospital cares for 115,081 inpatients, 479,325 outpatients and 381,169 ER patients each year.

About Orlando

Orlando is a hub for higher education and is home to numerous colleges and universities including University of Central Florida (UCF), Rollins College, Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences and the UCF College of Medicine.

A new "medical city" is under development including the UCF College of Medicine, VA hospital, and Burnham Research Institute centering their locations in the southeast part of town near Lake Nona.
