Florida Hospital in Orlando, Florida is seeking a dynamic, hardworking, and broadly skilled physician to serve as a core faculty member for the Family Medicine Residency Program.
Established in 1975, this long standing residency program is one of the largest programs in the country teaching 12 new residents each academic year. The physician's duties will include clinical teaching in an outpatient and inpatient setting. Candidate would also have the opportunity to develop a private patient base seeing own patients one dedicated day per week. A strong emphasis will be placed on clinical teaching skills focused on preventive and evidence based medicine. Fellowship training or added skills in areas such as sports medicine, dermatology, pediatrics, adolescent medicine, or obstetrics would be a plus. Practice case mix would be 80% teaching and 20% clinical.
Ideal candidate would have strong communication skills and be able to powerfully influence others. The residency program has medical school associations with University of Central Florida (first class started in 2009), Loma Linda, and Florida State University. Other recently developed Florida Hospital residency programs include Internal Medicine, General Surgery and Emergency Medicine.
The residency program is now located at Winter Park Memorial Hospital in a brand new medical office building. Winter Park Memorial Hospital is a 297-bed acute care facility chartered in 1951 by residents of the community. In continual operation since 1995, WPMH has consistently provided care to thousands of our neighbors in Winter Park, East Orange County and Seminole County. WPMH proudly offers a full range of services and programs including Cancer Care, OB at "The Baby Place," and the Florida Hospital Orthopaedic Institute.
This opportunity includes the benefits of call coverage, competitive compensation, and occurrence-based malpractice coverage. Other benefits include paid leave days, CME days and allowance, 403b retirement and health insurance.
